Ahmedabad : As India marks its 79th Independence Day with the theme “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future”, MATTER  the country’s pioneering electric vehicle and energy solutions startup is driving a new vision of freedom: the freedom to move, the freedom to charge, and the freedom to choose a cleaner future.

With motorcycles accounting for 65% of the two-wheeler market, MATTER’s latest initiative is set to accelerate India’s transition to zero-emission mobility. In line with the national mission to build a sustainable future, MATTER today announced the launch of the MATTER Energy Fast Charge Network and pledged its commitment to the ‘Right to Charging’.

The programme will see the phased, nationwide deployment of MATTER Energy Charge Hubs, coupled with strong advocacy for slow and fast charging access at every 2-wheeler parking location making charging a basic urban right for every rider.

At the heart of this rollout is MATTER’s in-house developed 3kW fast charger, capable of charging the MATTER AERA from 0% to 80% in just 90 minutes. Built under MATTER’s vertical integration principle, the charger is fully connected via the MATTERVerse App, providing real-time location, availability, and live charging status for a seamless user experience.

Key commitments under the ‘Right to Charging’ mission include:

  • Deploying Charge Hubs with both slow and fast chargers across residential complexes, public parking areas, and commercial hubs.
  • Advocating for charging infrastructure at every 2-wheeler parking location.
  • Offering on-demand fast charger installations at residences, workplaces, and public locations for MATTER riders.
  • Equipping all MATTER dealerships with fast-charging facilities.
  • Integrating partner charging networks into the MATTER Energy Network and MATTERVerse App for unified access and visibility.

In its initial phase, charging will be free for all MATTER AERA riders at MATTER Experience Hubs nationwide ensuring the ‘Right to Charging’ is available from day one.

“As India celebrates its 79th year of freedom, we must also ensure our riders have the freedom to choose clean mobility without restriction,” said Mohal Lalbhai, Founder and Group CEO, MATTER, at the launch. “Our Right to Charging movement, in harmony with ‘Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future,’ is about making energy access universal, affordable, and future-ready.”

By blending technology, advocacy, and infrastructure, MATTER aims to accelerate India’s shift to sustainable mobility honouring the nation’s legacy of freedom while inspiring a cleaner, greener tomorrow.
