
Jaipur. The 3rd International Conference on “Emerging Trends in Design and Arts (ICETDA 2025)” was recently organized by the Faculty of Design and Arts, Poornima University (PU), Jaipur. The two-day conference was full of inspirational sessions, research presentations, and cultural exchange. The conference was organized in collaboration with Banasthali Vidyapeeth, the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewelry, Jaipur; the Bhartiya Shilpa Sansthan, Jaipur; and the Adelaide Central School of Art, Australia. Taylor & Francis was the publishing partner and the Rising AVGC-XR and Media Association was an ecosystem partner. ICETDA 2025 received around 450 abstracts and 270 research papers from India and abroad.
The conference began with a grand inaugural ceremony. Its chief guest was Dr. Dev Swaroop, Vice Chancellor, Vishwakarma Skills University, Jaipur. Key speakers included Prof. K. G. Suresh, Director, India Habitat Center, Delhi; Prof. Dr. Phil. Dominic Lemli, Zurich University of Arts, Switzerland; and Mika Vesalahti, President, Helsinki Artists Association, Finland. Special guests were Dr. Tulika Gupta, Director, Bharatiya Shilpa Sansthan, Jaipur; Prof. Sanjeev Bhanawat, Retired Professor, Rajasthan University; and Pradeep Ohaja, Joint Director, MSME, Jaipur. The inaugural ceremony also saw the release of the abstract book and screening of a documentary showcasing the journey of ICETDA from its previous editions held in 2023 and 2024.
After the inauguration, the conference was organized divided into five tracks – Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Communication Design; Animation, VFX, Gaming & AR/VR; Fashion, Textiles, Interiors, Jewelry Product Design. In the sections Culture, Heritage Craft and Technology, Journalism and Mass Communication, researchers, industrialists and students presented research papers and posters which led to in-depth discussions on the subject of creativity, sustainability and innovation. Various research papers and poster sessions were organized which promoted collaboration between academia and industry. Interactive panels and discussions provided young researchers with an opportunity to share their views with experts and peers.
Finally, during the closing session, participants were felicitated for their significant contributions, and the best research paper awards were presented in various sections. ICETDA 2025 conveyed the message that design and art are not just academic subjects but powerful languages of expression, innovation, and intercultural dialogue.
