
Jaipur, August, 2025: HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company, India’s leading private sector general insurer, recently conducted the first edition of Insurance Quiz Senior, a nationwide initiative, aimed at building an Insurance-Secured India and creating awareness among undergraduate college students all over the country. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from campuses across the country, with the team from The LNM IIT Jaipur securing the position of second runner-up, showcasing their knowledge and enthusiasm for the sector. The quiz was designed to equip undergraduate college students with key knowledge about insurance and risk management.
Representing The LNM IIT, Ayush Agarwal and Toshit Pradeep Kumar, showcased exceptional knowledge and quick thinking to secure the second runner-up position in this nationwide competition. Their outstanding performance earned them a cash prize of ₹50,000 and a paid internship opportunity with HDFC ERGO General Insurance
Insurance Quiz Senior follows the successful nine-year run of the Insurance Quiz Junior, which has engaged over 25 lakh school students nationwide since 2016. Taking the legacy forward during the 10th year of the school quiz, this year, the Company has introduced the first edition of Insurance Quiz Senior for the undergraduate college students.
Commenting on the launch, Anuj Tyagi, MD & CEO, HDFC ERGO General Insurance, said, “In a recent survey we commissioned, it was revealed that 44%1 of Gen Z shy away from purchasing health insurance due to lack of awareness. With the launch of the Insurance Quiz Senior, we aim to address this gap by equipping young adults with essential knowledge around insurance and risk management, empowering them to make informed financial and insurance decisions as they step into their professional careers.”
Insurance Quiz Senior marks a significant expansion of HDFC ERGO’s commitment to building an insurance-secured India, by targeting the next generation of young professionals.
The journey of Insurance Quiz Senior began with a massive pool of 579 teams, 444 colleges, and 1100+ students from across 140+ cities of India, in the preliminary rounds. Following this, the competition was divided into four geographical zones (North, South, East, West). The top six teams from each zone competed in a zonal round, with the winner of each advancing to the finale. A fifth finalist team earned their spot through a competitive eliminator round.
During the grand finale of Insurance Quiz Senior, Anuj said, “The Insurance Quiz Senior, is yet another step by us to build a Future-Insured India. I am hoping that the knowledge gained up by the students while preparing for this quiz will help them take right financial decisions in future.”
Famous quiz master, actor and comedian, Kumar Varun was the host for the grand finale as Quiz Master.
The finalists of the quiz also got a chance of a tour to a leading tech company office at Mumbai.
