“Empowering Youth: Lessons from Gandhi’s Life” at Poornima College
Jaipur, Divya Rashtra. In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Poornima College of Engineering (PCE), Jaipur is proud to announce a special initiative titled “Swachhata hi Seva: Empowering Youth through the Lessons of Gandhi’s life,” aimed at instilling the values of cleanliness and social responsibility among the youth of our nation. This event, part of the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign running for the last 15 Days.
The programme commenced with the opening remarks of Dr. Kuldeep Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS, PCE, he highlighted the role of youth in driving social change, urging them to be proactive in addressing environmental and societal issues. “As future leaders, you have the power to inspire others and create a ripple effect of positive change.” The Chief Guest Bhagyashree Saini, Women & Child Rights Activist and Founder, Rajasthan Unsung Stars Trust, in her address said that Mahatma Gandhi believed that cleanliness and social service are the cornerstones of a healthy society. His life’s teachings emphasize that true empowerment comes from serving others and maintaining the environment.
Dr. Mahesh Bundele, Principal & Director, PCE encouraged the volunteers to internalize the values of empathy, responsibility, and active participation. “Every small action counts. Whether it’s a clean-up drive or educating others about sanitation, your contributions are vital. Dr. Pankaj Dhemla, Vice Principal, PCE and Dr. Rekha Nair, Dean, I Year, PCE were also present at this occasion. Vote of thanks was given by Utkarsh Bhagaur and Harshita. On this auspicious occasion, NSS Unit of PCE engaged the students and community members in a series of activities that highlights the importance of cleanliness and social responsibility.
