The inaugural three-day edition featured a strong mix of international guests and prominent Indian comic artists, alongside enthusiastic cosplayers and immersive experience zones that delivered nonstop engagement for attendees
Jaipur: The inaugural edition of Jaipur Comic Con, presented by Maruti Suzuki Arena and powered by Crunchyroll, held at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC) concluded successfully with footfall over 20,000. Attendees came together and participated in one of India’s greatest pop-culture experiences and marked a milestone moment for the growing fandom community in Rajasthan.
Organized under the aegis of the Government of Rajasthan’s AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) Policy and hosted alongside the state’s flagship digital initiative DigiFest, Jaipur Comic Con 2026 delivered three days of immersive experiences in comics, anime, gaming, cosplay, and entertainment.
The success of its 2026 debut underscored a broader cultural moment for Rajasthan, highlighting Jaipur’s emergence as a key destination for creative industries and youth-driven innovation and positioning Jaipur as a vibrant hub where entertainment, technology and fandom converge.
Sharing his excitement, Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director, NODWIN Gaming said, “Jaipur surprised us in the best possible way. It’s a city with deep cultural roots, and seeing that heritage blend so seamlessly with comics, cosplay, gaming, and fandom was truly special. Today, building strong IPs means engaging communities across both physical experiences and digital platforms, and events like Comic Con show why culture-led spaces are becoming increasingly valuable. The proactive support from the Government of Rajasthan through initiatives such as the AVGC Policy and Rajasthan DigiFest has been instrumental in enabling this scale of execution, laying a strong foundation for Jaipur to emerge as a key destination for India’s creative, gaming, and digital entertainment economy.”
Shefali Johnson, CEO, Comic Con India, further added, saying, “Jaipur is home for me, so bringing Comic Con to this city was deeply personal. Growing up here, pop culture spaces like this were something we could only imagine, and seeing thousands of fans now celebrating comics, anime, and cosplay in Jaipur feels incredibly full circle. What made this inaugural edition special was how strongly the local community showed up, from young fans and families to Rajasthan’s own creators. The support from the Government of Rajasthan through the AVGC Policy helped turn that vision into reality and showed how seriously the state is investing in its creative future.”
The convention had both international figures and Indian creators, bridging global pop-culture with local talents. Highlights included appearances by Bernard Chang, known for his work on Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme and co-creator of DC’s Monkey Prince, and Yannick Paquette, an Eisner-nominated artist with credits including X-Men, Batman and Wonder Woman: Earth One. A curated lineup of renowned Indian
comic writers and illustrators also participated in discussions and signings, further elevating the creative pulse of the event. Adding a strong regional touch, the inaugural edition showcased work of local creators and artists from Rajasthan, brought by the Rising AVGCXR & Media Association (RAMA Rajasthan) who displayed their work to new audiences and got an opportunity to share stories and interact with the audience.
Jaipur Comic Con featured cosplay contests across all three days, with the Indian Championship of Cosplay (ICC) remaining a major highlight of the festival. Cosplayers took centre stage as fans brought their favourite characters to life across graphic novel, movie, anime, gaming, sci-fi, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship, performance, and passion for fandom. Throughout the event, participants competed in multiple categories, winning daily grand prizes of ₹30,000 along with curated goodie bags for category winners. The excitement peaked on Sunday itself with the Jaipur Qualifier of the Indian Championship of Cosplay (ICC), where Vipin Aryan, cosplaying as Grey knight Terminator, emerged victorious, winning ₹50,000 and securing a coveted spot at the national finals of the Indian Championship of Cosplay.
The event was exciting for gaming enthusiasts, with the Royal Challenge Packaged Drinking Water booth hosting leading Indian gaming YouTuber Sc0ut (Tanmay Singh) for a fan meet-and-greet on the very first day, at the brand’s Challenger Gaming Zone featuring an immersive VR cricket experience. The event also saw the presence of Bollywood actor, model, and social media influencer Kuldeep Singhania, who explored the experience zones and soaked in the high-energy atmosphere of Comic Con.
Attendees enthusiastically cheered for on-stage performances by stand-up comedians Inder Sahani, Appurv Gupta, and Jaspreet Singh, grooved to high-energy musical acts by Celinedee Matahari, Naam Sujal, K!llSwitch, and KY Collective, and spellbinding illusion performances by Karan Singh.
Comic Con is beyond fandom festivities. The event emphasised learning as the creators session offered the understanding of storytelling and giving insights on how the world of comics operates. The three-day-long event showcased several engaging activities, like experiential zones by Maruti Suzuki Arena, Crunchyroll, NODWIN Gaming, delivering fun experiences to fans. There was a portrait artist, VR experiences, a Just Dance booth, picture tarot reading, and many other activities to indulge in. The event also accommodated a dedicated merchandise zone, featuring collectibles, apparel, and artwork.
After the successful debut edition of Jaipur Comic Con, the excitement will move down south, Tamil Nadu, with Chennai Comic Con set to take place on February 14–15, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. Tickets for Chennai Comic Con 2026 are now available on the District app.
