Gill sets a new national level benchmark in shot put with a powerhouse throw of 11.58 metres

AU Small Finance Bank (AU SFB), India’s largest Small Finance Bank and the first SFB to receive the RBI’s in-principle approval to transition into a Universal Bank, has added another milestone to its strategic sports initiative, AU Bano Champion. The program designed to nurture sporting talent at grassroots among underprivileged kids and youth has produced over 60 national-level athletes. In its recent achievements, Khushboo Gill, a para-athlete from Rajasthan, has delivered a record-breaking performance in a national championship. Representing AU Bano Champion, Gill clinched the Gold Medal in shot put at the 24th National Para Athletics Championship in Bhubaneswar, with a powerful throw of 11.58 metres, surpassing her own national record and setting a new benchmark.
The championship, held from March 17–21 at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium, witnessed participation from more than 1,460 para-athletes from across the country. Over the years Khushboo has consistently risen above financial constraints to establish herself as a formidable para-athlete. Her latest triumph adds to a growing list of achievements, including a Gold at the 2nd Khelo India Games (2025) and a Silver at the Delhi World Para Athletics Grand Prix (2025).
AU Small Finance Bank has been supporting Khushboo’s journey under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative-Bano Champion. This support covers her specialized sports training, high-performance equipment, and comprehensive dietary expenses, ensuring she has the resources to compete at the highest level.
