India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. (IYM) recently participated in the World Technician Grand Prix (WTGP) 2025, held in Japan this November. Mr. Chetan Jangir, a senior technicianfrom Raj Motors (Yamaha’s authorised dealers) in Jaipur, represented IYM at the global competition. In this competition, Mr. ChetanJangir showcased his exceptional technical and customer handling skills andultimately secured2nd positionfor IYM. To celebrate his remarkable feat, Yamaha organized a felicitation ceremony today in the presence of his IYM top management, dealers, and his family.
The WTGP is an international event organized by Yamaha Motor Company, Japan where elite level technicians from Yamaha subsidiaries and dealerships worldwide compete for the coveted title. Only those who’ve earned top honours in national and regional competitions get one lifetime chance to compete for the title of the world’s No.1 technician. In WTGP 2025 – its 9th edition – Yamaha brought together 22 elite technicians from 19 countries and regions – selected from over 35,700 certified Yamaha Motor technicians to compete in Japan for the ultimate prize. This competition tests not only technical expertise, but also customer service and human connection – truly embodying Yamaha’s “One to One Service” philosophy.
Earlier this year, Mr. Chetan Jangir won the National 3S Grand Prix Competition in the Technician Category, which earned him the opportunity to represent the company at WTGP 2025. His achievement marks India Yamaha Motor’s fourth consecutive podium finish at WTGP since 2014.Securing second place in the competition. Chetan’s achievement of competing on a foreign soil and bringing home the trophy is a proud moment.

Since its launch in 2010, the National Technician Grand Prix (NTGP) has grown exponentially – from 350 participants in its first edition to 7,567 contestants in 2024–25, including technicians, service advisors, sales consultant, parts managers, and tele-callers. Furthering this commitment, Yamaha operates the Yamaha Motor Academy (YMA), a global training initiative that transforms dealer staff into professionals/ experts, ensuring customers receive expert care and an unparalleled experience at every touchpoint.
