
Amity School of Fashion Technology, Rajasthan, successfully organized the National Handloom Fashion Week – “The Threads of Rajasthan” along with a 2-day National Conference on “AI-Driven Sustainability through Global Fashion” on 18th and 19th August 2025. The event brought together academicians, researchers, designers, and industry professionals to celebrate India’s handloom heritage while exploring the intersection of sustainability, technology, and creative innovation in the fashion industry. The national conference witnessed the participation of over 60 academicians and researchers from across India. A total of 43 research papers were presented, covering themes such as: Sustainable development in textiles and apparel, AI-driven solutions in design and manufacturing, Technological transformations in the global fashion ecosystem, Community-driven approaches to craft and design sustainability. The two day event was honored by the gracious presence of Hon’ble Chairperson of Amity School of Fashion Design and Technology, Amity Education Group, Mrs. Divya Chauhan. She addressed all designers, participants, and industry partners, in her inspiring speech. In addition to this she encouraged the fashion fraternity to embrace sustainable practices, technological innovations, and creative collaborations to redefine the future of global fashion. The conference was honored by the benign presence of Mr Ramesh Poddar, CEO, Poddar International Jaipur; Mr Baldev Rathi, Founder and Managing Director at Arvind Exim, Jaipur; Mr Vikram Joshi, CEO, Rangotri, Jaipur; Mr BB Paul, Consultant – Tanreja (TATA group, New Delhi); Dr Sivagnanam KJ, Director of Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Jodhpur; Mr Ashish Ahuja, Managing Director, Ahuja Overseas, Jaipur; Mr Awadhesh Kumar Pandey, CEO – AK International, Jaipur; Mr Jitender Singh, CEO, Clickzey Creative Technology Pvt Ltd, Kolkata; Ms Anjul Srivastav, Director Desi Finesse, Jodhpur. The galaxy of designers emphasized on the importance of handloom in the world of fashion. The discussions emphasized the role of AI, sustainability, and innovation in shaping the future of global fashion while preserving India’s traditional craft heritage. The Handloom Fashion Week served as a platform for designers and industry partners to showcase innovative approaches to sustainable fashion. 17 Designers and 7 Industry Partners participated in the showcase.
The collections highlighted sustainability: Use of eco-friendly textiles and responsible production methods, technological transformation, Integration of AI and digital tools in fashion processes, Creative Design for Future Fashion: New-age aesthetics blended with traditional handloom heritage, The fashion show successfully bridged tradition and, technology, reflecting the vision of a sustainable and futuristic fashion industry. The two day conference was well appreciated by Hon’ble Vice – Chancellor, Amity University Rajasthan, Prof Amit Jain, and Hon’ble Pro – Vice Chancellor, Prof GK Aseri. Prof. Sambaditya Raj, Dy. Director, ASFT and convenor of the conference acknowledged the incessant support provided by Hon’ble Vice – Chancellor and the University Management for the unconditional efforts put in making the conference a success. The Conference was successfully coordinated by Dr Souvik Mandal, Dr Pushpa Verma, Dr Prashasti and Dr Pragya Paliwal.
